His Excellency, the Governor of Assam, Conferred the Prestigious International Buddha Peace Award & Gaurav Shri Samman at a Grand Ceremony in Guwahati, Assam

In a moving celebration of service, compassion, and community leadership, the Maitry Peace Foundation organized its prestigious award ceremony on 2nd May 2025 in the cultural capital of Guwahati, Assam. The event brought together a remarkable group of individuals who have contributed significantly to fields such as education, social reform, environmental stewardship, and peace advocacy.

The International Buddha Peace Award & Gaurav Shri Samman was graciously presented to all award recipients by the Honourable Governor of Assam, Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya. In his address, the Governor praised the Foundation's efforts in identifying and honoring individuals who exemplify integrity, selflessness, and a commitment to societal upliftment.

“These honorees exemplify the values that bind us together—compassion, resilience, and dedication to community,” said Governor Acharya. “Their actions remind us of the profound impact one person can have on many lives.”

Each awardee received a uniquely designed trophy and official citation in recognition of their remarkable contributions to building a more inclusive and just society.

The evening was led by Surajit Barua, President of the Maitry Peace Foundation and a respected spiritual leader. In his speech, he emphasized the power of compassion-led leadership and the importance of recognizing grassroots efforts.

Among the notable guests and awardees were Shri Gadde Narahari, Shri Manoj Kacharia, and Shri Chakrasingh Muchahary, who were conferred with the International Buddha Peace Award & Gaurav Shri Samman.



Shri Chakrasingh Muchahary, a dedicated social worker, has long been involved in grassroots initiatives aimed at uplifting underserved populations.
